We’ve officially launched HAWK3, our next-generation digital photocell – and the response at ILP Lighting Live 2025 in Glasgow has been fantastic.

Built on customer feedback and years of photocell expertise, HAWK3 brings smarter switching, stronger sustainability credentials, and a refreshed design that makes installation and asset management easier.

Listening, learning – and launching something better.

HAWK3 is the result of a complete refresh of our photocell range. It’s been designed with real-world use in mind – giving lighting engineers and local authorities a solution that performs reliably, is easier to install and identify, and helps reduce environmental impact.

“HAWK3 is the result of listening, learning, and delivering,” says John Fox, Managing Director. “We’ve taken on board what customers need – from better accuracy to reduc ed waste – and turned it into a product that’s built for modern lighting networks.”

What’s new with HAWK3?

  • Digital switching for greater accuracy
  • Unique frosted cone design to reduce false triggers from nearby objects like trees or signs
  • New colour bands to make scheme identification and install tracking easier
  • Moulded gasket for improved durability and end-of-life recyclability
  • Laser-etched labelling – no stickers, no ink, less waste

And one of the most clever upgrades?

We’ve replaced photodiodes with phototransistors, enabling lower-light level detection using more efficient technology.

“We’ve simplified the design, reduced the number of components, and made sustainability a key part of the product,” adds Chris Dumon, Operations Director. “This is a better photocell in every sense.”

Built for the streetlighting of today – and tomorrow, HAWK3 is compatible with both 3-pin and 5/7-pin NEMA sockets and is designed to suit a wide range of highway and local authority applications.

It’s also part of our wider effort to offer high-performance products that support long-term sustainability goals, with cradle-to-cradle principles designed in from the start.
