As the year draws to a close and Spotify Wrapped fills your social feeds, we couldn’t resist putting our own spin on the tradition.
From feeder pillars to photocells, 2025 has been a landmark year for Lucy Zodion, filled with launches, milestones and meaningful moments that shaped both our business and the communities we serve.
Here’s a look back at the key highlights that defined our year:
Top Plays of 2025
HAWK3 took flight
Our most talked-about release of the year, HAWK3 brought digital precision, ultra-low energy use (just 0.25W) and cradle-to-cradle circularity to photocell design. As well as earning a Build Back Better Green Award and a shortlist spot at the Energy Saving Awards, HAWK3 has helped local authorities across the UK cut costs, improve accuracy and reduce environmental impact.
Ki. grew smarter
Our Ki. smart city platform evolved significantly in 2025. From festive lighting management in Onchan to NB-IoT-enabled school crossing beacons in Bolton, Ki. moved beyond lighting into new IoT territories, including air quality monitoring and real-time fault detection. Smart city, smarter results.
Sowerby Bridge investment
Our £2.2M factory expansion was completed, increasing our capacity, capability and commitment to UK manufacturing. With 30 new assembly bays, a 16-tonne gantry crane and a solar-powered roof, it’s a space built to support the next generation of Lucy Zodion innovation.
Our “Feel-Good” Tracks of the Year
This year wasn’t just about lighting the world; it was about looking after people and planet too.
Our new Wellness Garden opened at HQ: a calm green space filled with pollinator plants, bug hotels and bird boxes. It’s become a much-loved area for team members to recharge during the workday and has helped promote biodiversity on site.
Sustainability stayed front and centre
Whether through circular design features in HAWK3 or improved energy management via Ki., we continued to embed low-carbon principles into our products, helping local authorities move closer to their net-zero goals.
