Lucy Zodion has joined the Ecologi programme, the UK’s leading climate platform, to support verified climate and reforestation projects, reflecting the growing importance of sustainability within infrastructure procurement.
While infrastructure projects continue to be judged on performance, compliance and cost, there is increasing pressure across both public and private sector organisations to work with suppliers who can demonstrate measurable environmental responsibility across the supply chain.
Ecologi was selected for its transparent reporting, measurable impact tracking and independently verified environmental projects, helping ensure contributions are credible and evidence-based.
Contributions will be linked to order value, with customers also being given the option to further support the programme through matched tree funding on future projects.
John Fox, Managing Director at Lucy Zodion, said:
“This gives us a practical and measurable way to contribute towards environmental projects while aligning with the direction our customers and wider industry are moving towards.
It’s a relatively simple approach, but one that reflects a much bigger shift in how infrastructure is being delivered.
I’d also like to recognise the work Jessica Probets has put into championing this internally and helping bring it to life.”
The initiative forms part of the broader sustainability strategy across Lucy Group, which has adopted the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a framework for long-term progress.
Alongside this, Lucy Zodion continues to invest in its own operations and products, from on-site solar generation at its Sowerby Bridge facility through to the development of energy-efficient street lighting control and power distribution solutions.
Individually, these actions are relatively small. Together, they reflect a wider shift in how infrastructure is delivered, in which environmental responsibility is no longer separate from performance but is increasingly expected as part of it.
